Fuertes Group receives the highest international recognition for its purchasing management

The head of the area, Constantino Sánchez, wins the International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management award to the best purchasing manager in the world

Grupo Fuertes has received the highest international recognition for its procurement management. The company’s Purchasing Director, Constantino Sánchez, has won International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management (IFPSM) award to the best purchasing manager globally and is the second person in Spain to receive this recognition.

The International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management is the union of 45 purchasing associations worldwide, including the Spanish Association of Purchasing, Contracting and Procurement Professionals (AERCE). Over 200,000 companies and executives compete each year for this international award to professionals who demonstrate significant progress in Purchasing around the world and whose commitment to their job makes them worthy of this distinction, one of the most important prestigious in the business world.

The award was presented by Europe IFPSM’s regional chair, José Francisco Garrido, to the company’s Purchasing Director, Constantino Sánchez, in a ceremony held today at the facilities of ElPozo Alimentación, a company integrated in the holding Grupo Fuertes, with the participation of the chair of Grupo Fuertes, Tomás Fuertes; the CEO, José Fuertes; and the director of AERCE, Sara Ruiz.

The company’s purchasing management is based on a convergent strategy from organisation of purchasing to towards the Fuertes Group’s global objectives. It is targeted at continuous improvement, ethics, transparency and its contribution to good practices and policies of sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

The company’s work over the years and its commitment to sustainability in the value chain has led to the Fuertes Group being awarded the UNE 15896:2015 Value Added Purchasing Management and the ISO 20400 standard for Sustainable and Environmentally, Socially and Economically Committed Procurement.
