17/05/2016

The company ElPozo Alimentación is to contract over the next two years 40 disabled people, thanks to the Inserta agreement which has been renewed today in Murcia with the ONCE Foundation.

The president of ElPozo Alimentación, Tomás Fuertes, and the managing director of the ONCE Foundation, José Luis Martínez Donoso, signed today the renewal of this agreement, drawn up in 2013, which will double the number of disabled workers hired by the food company.

This agreement is part of the operating programmes of Youth Employment and Social Economy (POEJ) and Social Inclusion and Social Economy (POISES), which the ONCE Foundation develops through the FSC Inserta, co-financed by the European Social Fund, which aims to increase the training and employment of disabled people. ElPozo Alimentación will rely on Inserta, ONCE’s entity for training and employment, to cover the new posts which the company has, to preselect the candidates which are most appropriate for the required profile, and train them as far as they can to do the job. The agreement also contemplates the promotion of other actions which favour job placement for disabled people indirectly, via the acquisition of goods and hiring of services from the special centres of employment

The managing director of the ONCE Foundation, José Luis Martínez Donoso, has stated that the renewed agreement “strengthens the commitment of ElPozo Alimentación to integrate people who add value to the company”, he also pointed out that “for ONCE the fact that a company of such standing is a supporter means that the ONCE Foundation’s policy of integration can continue to advance”. Lastly, Martínez Donoso revealed that with the new period of programing of the European Social Fund, the ONCE Foundation “has new projects in the Region of Murcia which are related to young people with disabilities and with First Job Plan”. The president of ElPozo Alimentación, Tomás Fuertes, was “very satisfied” with the results of the agreement and “proud to continue contributing to the important social work undertaken by ONCE”. Fuertes said that “the creation of social wealth and collaboration with the most vulnerable groups are and will always be a strategic objective of our company”. For his part the Regional Minister of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment of the Region of Murcia, Juan Hernández, has highlighted “the example that the ONCE Foundation sets for economic and social development ”, as well as “its service record in Murcia” . He also said that ElPozo Alimentación is “a reason to be proud for the Murcian people, with important figures in all senses and a special sensibility towards people with greater difficulties of insertion in the labour market”.

ElPozo Alimentación is a socially committed company to disability which contemplates in its social responsibility plans and strategies actions aimed at promoting the labour insertion of this collective. The company is a leader in the food sector, exporting its products to more than 80 countries and, last year, had a turnover of 965.3 million euros. It has a workforce of 4,000 people, which is 8.5 per cent more with respect to the previous year. Inserta, the entity of ONCE Foundation expert in employment and training of people with disability , has been responsible for the management and development of the Programme for Talent (Operating Programme Of Fight against Discrimination 2007-2013), co-financed by the European Social Fund. Nowadays, it participates in the operating programmes of Youth Employment and in Social Inclusion and Social Economy approved by the European Union for Spain in the period 2014-2020.
