ElPozo Alimentación supports the Spanish Paralympic Team on its way towards Río 2016

The company ElPozo Alimentación has become the new sponsor of the Spanish Paralympic Team for the Games in Río de Janeiro 2016, thanks to the sponsorship agreement signed today in the headquarters of the Sports Council in Madrid.

The assistant managing director of ElPozo Alimentación, Rafael Fuertes and the president of the Spanish Paralympic Committee, Miguel Carballeda, added their signature to the agreement through which the entity is incorporated to the ADO Paralympic Plan (ADOP Paralympic Sport Support Plan) and economically supports the sportsmen and women in their preparation for the Paralympic Games in Río de Janeiro 2016.

Thanks to the contributions from ElPozo Alimentación and the rest of the sponsors of the ADOP Plan, these sportsmen and women have the necessary means to obtain grants and help for training, attend a greater number of international concentrations and competitions or have technicians, coaches, personal support, specific sports equipment or medical services, etc. All that, with the objective of getting the best results possible in the Paralympic Games in Río de Janeiro 2016 and keeping Spain among the elite of sport practised by disabled people.

The agreement was initialled in the presence of the Director General of Sport of the Sports Council, Óscar Graefenhain, and a group of outstanding sportsmen and women who wanted to thank the food company for their support. Among them, there were paralympic champions of cycling, Alfonso Cabello, and marathon, Alberto Suárez. In addition, the act was presented by the paralympic coaches and various times medal winners in the Games, Marta Arce and Carla Casals.

ElPozo Alimentación is a company socially committed to disability, which in its social responsibility plans and strategies contemplates activities aimed at promoting the insertion of this collective in the labour market. Likewise, the company promotes sports among the younger members of society and has been the sponsor for the last 25 years of the ElPozo Murcia five-aside football club and all its inferior categories.
