2/09/2025

Recognised as the best wine-tourism experience in Murcia and the second best in the whole of Spain, according to the specialist digital publication Verema

Bodegas Luzón is launching its ambitious ‘Open Harvest’ initiative this Saturday, 6 September, with a wide range of activities designed around the enjoyment of wine and all the sensations it offers. This event has been recognised by the specialist digital publication Verema as the best wine-tourism experience in Murcia, and the second best in the whole of Spain.

This fantastic 3-month programme will kick off with the traditional ‘Family Harvest’, which will take place during every weekend of September under the ‘Wine Origins’ umbrella. This activity is designed to ensure that the entire family, including the little ones, can experience every stage of the wine production process, starting with the grape harvest.

Another event will take place on 13 September called ‘From the Grape to the Glass’, where visitors will go on a guided journey from the vine to the final tasting, learning all the secrets of the fermentation process during the harvest period.

The month shall then draw to a close with the ‘From Must to Wine’ experience on the weekends from the 20th to the 28th, where visitors can taste the wine at all its stages and learn how it evolves up to the moment it ends up in the bottle.

In October, ‘Open Harvest’ offers an array of activities based on creativity and contrasts, including ‘Winemaker for a Day’ (weekends from the 4th to the 12th), where participants will be able to create their own wine, choose the blend and design their own personal label, and ‘Team Jumilla or Team Rioja’, where the two wineries, Luzón and Corral, face off and teach visitors all about their most significant nuances and traditions. Then, on 25 October, there will be the ‘Painting and Wine Workshop’, followed by the ‘Sensory Tasting’ on the 26th, an immersive journey through all five senses, to experience wine from unexpected perspectives.

In November, under the heading ‘Gastronomy and New Histories’, wine will be paired with some of the most exclusive food products: on 1 November, with ‘Pairing Wines and Iberian Pork’, and 2 November, with ‘Pairing Cheese and Wine’, guided by the sommelier Guillermina Sánchez.

On 8 and 9 November, Bodegas Luzón will celebrate ‘European Wine Tourism Day’ by offering special visits with tastings and very special discounts at its store.

These events will culminate with ‘Stories of the New Vintage’ (15 and 16 November), an exclusive tasting of young wines recently produced from the 2025 vintage.

About Bodegas Luzón
Bodegas Luzón is one of the main producers and exporters of PDO wine. Jumilla. Founded by Don José de Molina, commander of the Royal Armies stationed in the Philippines, who on returning to his native Jumilla christened his estate with the name “Finca Luzón”, in homage to the Philippine island that marked his life. In a pioneering decision for the time, Don José linked the inheritance of his land to the female branch of his family, a tradition that continued until the mid-1980s.
Today, the winery belongs to the Fuertes family, who maintain the centuries-old essence of Luzón, while at the same time investing and providing the necessary infrastructure to adapt the family business to the new times.

Proud of its history and its roots, Bodegas Luzón continues to be a benchmark in the production of wines with character, authenticity and respect for the land.
Bodegas Luzón, belonging to Grupo Fuertes, also manages the century-old Corral winery, located in the town of Navarrete, in La Rioja, with which it enters the Rioja Designation of Origin, diversifying its offer and expanding its presence into other territories.
