Miriam Fuertes, Managing Director of Grupo Fuertes, awarded by International Women’s Entrepreneurial Challange (IWEC)

This foundation recognises the work of successful women entrepreneurs.

Miriam Fuertes’ nomination was exclusively submitted by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce.

The International Women’s Entrepreneurial Challenge (IWEC) Foundation has awarded Miriam Fuertes, Managing Director of Grupo Fuertes, for her work as an entrepreneur and her fundamental role as the first female vice-president of the Murcia Chamber of Commerce.

Miriam Fuertes was exclusively nominated for this renowned award by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce.

The IWEC Foundation held its 15th annual International Women in Entrepreneurship conference at the IESE Business Shool in Madrid, which aims to highlight the transformative power of women. Based in New York, it works with 50 international Chambers of Commerce and women’s business organisations around the world.

The conference was opened by the President of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, José Luis Bonet, who said: “I am fully convinced of the important role of women entrepreneurs in society and, in particular, in building fairer and more sustainable economies”. José Luis Bonet also recalled the work undertaken by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce based on the pillars of training and entrepreneurship to ensure equal opportunities between men and women.

Miriam Fuertes Quintanilla is Managing Director of Profusa, the real estate company that belongs to Grupo Fuertes, where she has been working for over 18 years, and is founder and director of Promenade, the hospitality and event organisation company. She graduated with a degree in Business Administration and Management, specialising in Senior Management and Human Resources. She has a Global Executive MBA Master’s Degree from the APD (National Association for the Progress of Management). She is the first female vice-president of the Board of Directors of the Murcia Chamber of Commerce, a post she has held since 2018. She is also a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Regional Confederation of Business Organisations of Murcia (CROEM), among other posts.
