4/10/2021

He awards it 93 points, a true honour for one of the most emblematic wines from DO Jumilla

James Suckling, recently considered by Forbes magazine as one of the world’s most influential wine critics, has awarded Luzón Colección Monastrell, the emblematic wine from the DO Jumilla region, with 93 points. He has described it as a wine with “a pretty nose of wild plum, dark cherry, blackberry, violet and nutmeg. A medium body with fine tannins and brilliant acidity, spiced with a fruity and flexible character. Careful texture in the mouth with excellent longevity. From organically grown grapes.”

This outstanding score is yet another addition to the trophy cabinet for the 2020 vintage of this unique wine, which has received two gold medals and the Honour Mention for the best young Monastrell wine in the DO at the 27th Quality Contest of Jumilla Wines, something that the winery has achieved three years in a row, and which serves as proof of its incredible journey.

Luzón Colección Monastrell also earned 90 points in the Peñín Guide, as well as five additional stars, rating it as an unforgettable option thanks to its price-quality relationship. Peñín, which publishes the most renowned Spanish-language guide in Latin America and Spain, makes frequent references to the wines of Bodegas Luzón.

Luzón Colección Monastrell has received worldwide acclaim through acknowledgements in international publications, such as Wine Enthusiast, which included it in its list of 20 best buys and gave it a score of 90 points.
