Bodegas Luzón wines continue to be a success internationally. Altos de Luzón 2016 has just carried off the Bacchus Gold and Luzón Colección Crianza the silver in one of the most important winemaking competitions in the world, organised by The Spanish Wine Tasting Union.

The Bacchus awards bring together international wine tasters alongside specialised journalists, sommeliers, oenologists, masters of wine and masters of sommelier, who are in charge of evaluating and recognizing the quality of the wine. This annual date brings together wines from five continents owing to the fact that this competition has become one of the man showcases for winemaking.

Bacchus is the only international wine competition held in Spain which belongs to the World Federation of International Competitions in Wine and Spirits (VINOFED). It is also recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment and The International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV).

In addition, Altos de Luzón 2014 now has a place on the podium in the Women’s Wine Awards in Japan, thanks to an all-female jury.  4,212 wines from 37 countries took part in the sixth edition of this competition and have been analysed by 406 professional experts, including sommeliers, oenologists, journalists and food writers. This competition has become one of the main launch pads for wineries who want to get inside a market where having a recognised brand is absolutely essential for success.

“These three prizes are very important because they place Bodegas Luzón in an unbeatable position on an international scale”, points out the managing director of Bodegas Luzón, Francisco Martínez, who added that “for our organisation the most important thing is that our work to continuously improve the quality of the wines  we make is recognised.”.

Bodegas Luzón is one of the biggest wine producers from the Protected Designation of Origen (PDO) Jumilla and its products have a distinguished personality and are highly regarded by experts and consumers.

The winery manages more than 1,200 hectares of vineyards which enables it to obtain excellent grapes from which it makes pleasant elegant fruity wines which are increasingly better positioned in the market, as demonstrated by these recognitions, thanks to their meticulous elaboration and innovation.
