This European standard is a shining endorsement of the company’s good purchasing practices

Grupo Fuertes has been granted UNE 15896 certification for Value Added Purchasing Management. This certification is the culmination of Grupo Fuertes’ organisational maturity in this field and is a great accomplishment, building on the foundation laid by its success at the 2019 El Diamante de la Compra^® Awards, where it received recognition in the Purchasing Function Transformation category.

The European standard certifies the company’s best practices and guarantees responsible management within the supply chain. In addition, it commends the additional value provided by the Group in the management process as well as the optimisation of its relationship with its over 25,000 providers and 200,000 references.

The company’s purchasing management policy is based on a convergent strategy that covers all aspects, from the organisation of purchases to Grupo Fuertes’ global objectives, and it is focused on continuous improvement, ethics, transparency, contributing to good practices and maintaining sustainability policies and corporate social responsibility.

The certification process was completed with the collaboration of AERCE, the Spanish Association for Purchasing Managers, and the certification body AENOR. The Group now has its sights set on achieving ISO 20400 certification for environmentally, socially and economically sustainable procurement, something that will further strengthen its sound management in this strategic area.
