Tomás Fuertes, named Honorary Citizen of the City of Murcia

The Chairman of Grupo Fuertes, Tomás Fuertes, has been named Honorary Citizen of the City of Murcia for his significant contribution to economic development on a local, regional, national and international level. The ceremony took place during the celebrations for the City of Murcia Day, which commemorates the creation of the Council of Murcia by King Alfonso X the Wise on 14 May 1200 years ago.

Tomás Fuertes, accompanied by his family, expressed his gratitude to the City Council and recalled the values and principles instilled in him by his parents, which have guided his personal and professional life.

Tomás Fuertes is the Chairman of Grupo Fuertes, one of the most important business groups in Spain, with 100% Spanish capital, which brings together more than 20 different companies whose activity is mainly focused on the agri-food sector. Among them is El Pozo Alimentación, a leader in its market. The group employs around 9,000 direct employees and generates around 50,000 indirect employees, with a turnover of more than €2.5 billion. Last year it invested €95 million to strengthen innovation and sustainability, which are its compass towards competitiveness.
