Aquadeus climbs onto the podium of natural mineral water companies in Spain
According to the report on the bottled water sector prepared by Publicaciones Alimarket
Aquadeus, a natural mineral water company belonging to Grupo Fuertes, has just climbed onto the podium of natural mineral water companies in Spain, according to the report on the bottled water sector prepared by Publicaciones Alimarket, moving up two places from the previous year.
The company ranks third among the country’s leading bottled water companies, with more than 600 million litres bottled in 2024. Aquadeus ended the last financial year with a 15 percent increase in turnover, reaching €75.5 million. Double-digit results backed by its commitment to quality, innovation and sustainability have strengthened its presence in both the domestic and international markets, thanks to improved processes and optimised resources to ensure that its products exceed consumer expectations.
The company has also strengthened its position with the acquisition of Manantial de Fuencaliente (Cantabria), adding its third plant in Spain. With an investment of over €20 million, its aim is to relaunch the historic Solares brand and position it as a market leader. To this end, it has revamped its image with new packaging and a campaign featuring two-time Olympic champion Saúl Craviotto.
The mineral water sector in Spain continues to grow, according to estimates by the Spanish Mineral Water Association (Aneabe), which indicate that this drink is, once again, the most consumed in the country, with 139 litres per person per year. The first quarter of 2025 has been positive in terms of sales, despite the bad weather, and a long summer with a historic influx of tourists is expected, which will further boost growth. New forms of consumption are also becoming established, such as sparkling water, functional beverages, and dispensers in homes and offices, all part of the sector’s growing commitment to sustainability.
