The companies ElPozo Alimentación, Fripozo and Profusa, part of the Grupo Fuertes holding company, have invested a total of 714,000 euros in order to improve their energy efficiency.

It is an equipment and light fixtures renewal project, which has meant the substitution of more than 13,840 light points, now adapted to LED, which entails an energy saving of up to 57 per cent.

More specifically, ElPozo Alimentación has aimed 495,000 euros to renew a total of 13,000 light points in different areas of the company such as the Processing Plant, the Centre for Meat Processing (CPC) or the Slicing Plant. This initiative has enabled energy consumption to be reduced by 56 per cent.

For its part, Profusa has also carried out the substitution of more than 420 light points in one of its property developments, the Dos Playas Hotel in Mazarron.  This is a project which has meant an investment of over 137,000 euros and has led to a reduction in energy consumption of 40 per cent.

Likewise, Fripozo has invested more than 82,000 euros to renew another 420 light points in its facilities located in Las Torres de Cotillas, which will lead to a 57 per cent reduction of the company’s energy consumption.

All these projects are in response to the Grupo Fuertes companies’ commitment to environmental sustainability, one of the main principles of its corporate social responsibility strategy.

The actions have been co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), within the ERDF Operational Programme 2014-2020 of the Region of Murcia.
