Grupo Fuertes receives award for internationalisation in the elEconomista awards
For its arrival on the Russian market
The Grupo Fuertes holding company has received the prize for Internationalisation, awarded by the publication elEconomista, for its arrival on the Russian market with the start-up of the turkey meat producer, Tamboskaia Indeika.
The president of the group, Tomás Fuertes, was in charge of receiving the recognition from the hands of the managing director of Gas Natural, Rafael Villaseca, during the VII edition of the “Noche de la economía” which each year recognises the most relevant businessmen, women and companies of the year and which is presided over by Alfonso de Salas, the Head of Ecoprensa – the publisher of elEconomista.
Grupo Fuertes receives an award together with the president of Repsol, Antonio Brufau, CaixaBank, Deliberry, Fundación Bertelsman and Heineken. The award ceremony, held yesterday in the CaixaForum auditorium in Madrid, was brought to a close by the vice-president of the Government, Minister of Presidency and Local Authorities, Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría, before the presence of more than 400 business men and women and other guests.
Grupo Fuertes has run its business project in Russia together with the leading local meat producer, Grupo Cherkizovo. The initiative has meant an investment of 130 million euros and is the undisputed leader of turkey production in the country, given that its current production volume is 40,000 tonnes of meat a year. The social and economic impact of the company is very important as it has created more than one thousand jobs directly and five thousand indirectly in the Tambov region.
Tamboskaia Indeika’s facilities are the most modern in the world, and its objective is to meet turkey meat demand for the whole of Russia from Smolensko to Vladivostok, as well as countries from the Middle East and Asia. The project is designed so that with an additional minimum investment meat production can be doubled up to 80,000 tonnes annually.
